A celebration of community projects will take place in Cosmeston later this month.
In recent times, Penarth has become a hub for flourishing green initiatives championed by local volunteers.
Leading the charge are GPG's Penarth Growing Community and the Penarth Civic Society's Tree Forum, as well as multiple 'Friends of' groups.
Together, they support tree growth, agri-food, and biodiversity while fostering community bonds.
A community event, aimed at bringing together all green and growing groups, is proposed to foster the sharing of learning and updates.
It is organised by GPG and the Penarth Tree Forum and is planned for Cosmeston Orchard on September 12 between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
The organiser's vision is for an informal gathering, a chance to explore Cosmeston Orchard and learn about its progress.
Each group will have an opportunity to provide a brief summary of their recent undertakings.
The assembly is designed to facilitate discussions about collaborative work opportunities and mutual group assistance strategies aimed at enriching Penarth's green footprint further in the times ahead.
Vale Local Nature Partnership and VoG Parks are down as potential attendees on the list.
Attendees, however, are requested to bring portable seating or picnic blankets as well as refreshments.
Organisers commit to keeping the attendees updated regarding potential changes to the event setup, likely due to weather nearer the time.
If you are unfamiliar with the location, the location map of Cosmeston Orchard is available on the event flyer.
