The future of the Clives Arms Hotel in Penarth, which has been up for sale for nearly two years, is still up in the air.
The hotel pub, which is owned in partnership by Garry Webber and Steve Powell, is up for sale for £280,000.
The co-owner, who has lived in Penarth all his life, shared why he decided to buy the pub in the first place so many years ago.
Garry Webber, 64, said: “I would like it to keep going - we have been here for 16 to 17 years, but it was busier back then."
He decided to buy the pub with his business partner when it went up for sale because it was his favourite pub to get a drink.
“I have drunk in this pub for at least 45 years because it's a real traditional pub.”
When you walk into the pub you can see shelves with rows of beer mugs that he has collected over the years.
His business partner talked to him about the decision to put it up for sale and while he loves the pub, he said he supported his decision.
“It has already been some time and things do change, after covid it has been a struggle,” he said.
