The winners of the Food Awards Wales 2024 have been announced and these two businesses in Penarth have been recognised.
The award event was held at The Coal Exchange Hotel in Cardiff on Monday, September 9.
It is the seventh year of the awards which recognises culinary destinations across Wales.
The awards showcase the best restaurants, takeaways, pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes and bistros.
Restaurant of the Year (South East) - Home By James Sommerin
Home By James Sommerin, won Restaurant of the Year (South East).
The owners James and Georgia Sommerin opened the restaurant in the summer of 2014.
This family run business celebrated retaining its Michelin star in 2023.
It was also highly commended for the Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year.
Desert Outlet of the Year (highly commended) - The Crêpe Escape
The Crêpe Escape was highly commended for Dessert Outlet of the Year.
The multi-award winning crêperie, ice cream and coffee shop in Penarth is a local family run business.
If you are fancying a sweet treat you can find The Crêpe Escape on Glebe Street.
