A 71-year-old man breached a restraining order put in place one week after his sentencing.
Kevin Reed of Queens Road, Penarth, was given a restraining order after he committed criminal damage and harassed a man with verbal and physical threats.
In July, the defendant was convicted of the criminal damage and harassment offences he committed on June 6, 2024.
The judge gave him a community order until July 2025, rehabilitation activities, and £200 compensation to pay.
The restraining order prevents the defendant from contacting the individual directly or indirectly (including on social media).
It prohibits him from travelling on Arcot Street, Windsor Road, Hickman Road, Bradenham Place, Albert Road, and Salop Street.
The defendant breached the restraining, which was in place until March 2026, only one week after it was issued.
On July 17, the defendant approached the individual in Penarth without reasonable excuse and contacted him.
The defendant was given a four-week custodial sentence suspended for 18 months for breaching his restraining order.
