Three planning applications have been submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan Council for developments to properties in Penarth in the last week.

The following plans have been submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan Council during the week of September 23 - 30.

Replacement windows and doors

The application includes replacing existing 30-year-old UPVC tilt and turn windows with UPVC sash windows and replacing existing rear UPVC doors at 52 Plymouth Road.

All replacements will enhance insulation, resulting in less energy usage and less greenhouse gas production, subsequently having a positive effect on the environment and biodiversity according to the application.

It is emphasised that there will be no alteration to the structure or size of the openings, and the changes aim to match the other half of the semi-detached house at 54 Plymouth road.

Bungalow works

Plans have been proposed for a hip to gable conversion to an existing bungalow with a Juliet balcony at 29, Augusta Crescent.

It also includes an alteration to an existing garage which will be re-built for residential use, extending to the rear side.

Additional green infrastructure additions such as planting in front and rear gardens and the fitting of a bird box to the proposed extension have also been proposed to enhance biodiversity.

Garage demolition

At the rear of 19 and 21 Victoria Road, the demolition of two existing poor-quality garages has been proposed.

In place of these, the construction of a single-storey dwelling equipped with gardens, a courtyard, and parking, accessed off Jack's Lane is proposed.

The new construction shall be done using fair-faced brick, timber boarding walls with an Eternit black profile 3 semi-compressed fibre cement sheet roof, and black timber or powder coat aluminium composite windows and doors.
