There are a number of events taking place in Penarth this coming week.

Thin Ice to perform Pink Floyd classics

Tribute act Thin Ice will be performing a selection of Pink Floyd classics at Penarth's Ex-Servicemen's Club on Saturday, October 12.

The band will take to the stage in the upstairs function room, with doors opening at 7.30pm and the performance starting at 8.30pm.

Fans can look forward to enjoying hits from the band's extensive back catalogue, including favourites like Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb, and Another Brick in the Wall.

Tickets for the event are priced at £5 and can be purchased online or directly from the venue's bar.

Clare Teal and Jason Rebello to grace Penarth Pier Pavilion

Jazz enthusiasts can look forward to a night of classics at the Penarth Pier Pavilion on Friday, October 11.

Clare Teal and pianist Jason Rebello will be in concert, showcasing their renowned musicality and Ms Teal's engaging storytelling.

The duo will explore a rich repertoire, celebrating the works of American and British songwriters over the past century, along with some surprises.

The evening promises a set list with selections from the likes of Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, and Ed Cobb, honouring the legacies of Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, and Peggy Lee, among others.

Ms Teal, a multiple British Jazz Singer of the Year award winner, has been recognised with a Gold Badge by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors and an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Music by the University of Wolverhampton.

The concert starts at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm, and is expected to finish around 9.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £30.95 plus a booking fee.

Steel Magnolias on stage at Paget Rooms

The Penarth Operatic and Dramatic Society will be bringing Robert Harding's beloved play Steel Magnolias to life at the Paget Rooms with daily performances between Wednesday, October 9 and Saturday, October 12.

The play, which chronicles the life experiences of six women in a Southern community, will take the audience on a journey filled with wit, life lessons, and the strength of female friendship.

Each performance is set to start at 7.30pm.

Rockin'58 to host Halloween Warm-up Party

A Halloween Warm-up Party featuring Rockin'58 will take place on Saturday, October 12.

The event, held at Penarth Conservative Club on Stanwell Road, will feature a prize for the best fancy dress.

Entry will be £7 on the door.

Spectrum Singers to present 'Hope Is The Thing With Feathers'

The Spectrum Singers are set to perform 'Hope Is The Thing With Feathers' at Dinas Powys Parish Hall on October 11.

The evening will be a celebration of nature conservation, featuring highlights from Christopher Tin’s Grammy-nominated concept album The Lost Birds.

The concert will also include compositions by Stanford, Vaughan Williams, and Ravel, alongside jazz standards from Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, and pop hits from The Beatles and The Carpenters.

Conducted by Benjamin Gait and Emily Scaglioni, the show begins at 7.30pm and tickets are priced at £11.
