The Vale of Glamorgan Council has approved four planning applications relating to properties in Penarth.

Here are the four approved applications given the go-ahead by the council between October 7 and October 13.

Replacement of existing pitched and flat roof structures

Approval has been granted for the replacement of existing pitched and flat roof structures at the ground floor flat, 8 Park Road.

The development will include changes to the design, roof covering, and roof windows, along with associated external works.

The council has stipulated several conditions, including adherence to approved plans and commencement within five years.

A starling nest box must also be installed on the north elevation before the first occupation of the development.

Replacement windows

All single glazed windows at 14 Victoria Square will be replaced with new double glazed accoya sashes.

The sashes will have period mouldings and section sizes to match the existing windows.

The council has imposed conditions, including commencement within five years and adherence to approved plans.

The development must also comply with the biodiversity and green infrastructure enhancement measures outlined in the approved documents.

Any trees or plants that die, are removed, or become damaged or diseased within five years of the completion of the development must be replaced in the next planting season.

Air source heat pump

Approval has been granted for the installation of an air source heat pump at 5 Rowan Close.

The council has imposed conditions, including commencement within five years and adherence to approved plans.

The development must also comply with the biodiversity enhancement measures outlined in the approved documents.

Any trees or plants that die, are removed, or become damaged or diseased within five years of the completion of the development must be replaced in the next planting season.

Demolish existing conservatory and construct new rear extension on its footprint

Plans to demolish the existing conservatory and construct a new rear extension on its footprint at 159 Plymouth Road have been approved.

The council approved this on the grounds that the proposed single storey rear extension and other specified works are considered to be permitted development under the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Amendment) (Wales) Order 2013.
