A MAN who says his car was hit by a white van is appealing to anyone with dashcam footage of the incident.
Robert Mctavish, 59, of Brockhill Way, said his car was hit by a white van on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Mr Mctavish uses the car to travel down to see his mother who lives in a care home in Swansea, near where he grew up.
The car is now in the garage with damaged lights, making it unsafe for him to drive.
“It is in the garage now. I cannot drive it because the head light and fog lights are broken.”
The cost of the damage to the car is estimated to be between £500 and £1500, he added.
He said he had parked his 2012 Audi A3 outside Penarth Leisure Centre in Cogan between noon and 1pm.
Mr Mctavish said his wife, also at the leisure centre, for a spin class, told him a lot of people going into the gym saw what happened.
He found a note left on the window of his car by the person who caused the damage with a phone number.
“Sorry, didn’t see you parked that close beside me. My phone number is 07481602989. I’ll wait to hear from you,” it read.
However, Mr Mctavish says he believes the person left the note ‘to look like he was doing the right thing’ because the number left was invalid.
Mr Mctavish described himself as a ‘pretty cool headed’ person who isn’t annoyed but wants to find out who did it.
