A Vale of Glamorgan primary school has marked a milestone in an anti-racism campaign.

All Saints C/W Primary School participated in the 10th anniversary of Wear Red Day, an initiative launched by Show Racism the Red Card.

The event, held on Friday, October 18, encourages schools and communities across the UK to unite against racism.

Staff and pupils at All Saints wore red to show solidarity, transforming the school into a sea of colour.

A spokesperson for the school said: "The day served as a vivid reminder of how, the simple act of wearing red, we demonstrated that we stand united and that every individual can play a role in fostering a kinder community."

The Heritage Heroes pupil voice group and deputy headteacher Mr Ashworth were recognised for their efforts in planning and coordinating the day.

The activities empowered pupils to engage in discussions, encouraging them to share their thoughts and experiences, fostering a sense of belonging and understanding.

The spokesperson said: "Wear Red Day serves as a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to challenge prejudice and uphold a culture of acceptance.

"At All Saints C/W Primary School, we take great pride in joining this vital movement to help change hearts, change minds, and change lives.

"We hope that the energy and messages from this day will resonate beyond our school gates and inspire our wider community to take action against discrimination.

"Together, we can create an atmosphere where everyone feels valued and respected, making our community a better place for all."
