The Vale of Glamorgan Council have revealed the streets in Barry and Penarth that receive the most parking fines.

The top ranked streets for Penarth included:

Windsor Road, where a total of 1948 parking fines have been issued for this year so far and Glebe Street, where a total of 869 parking fines have been issued for this year so far.

The top streets for Barry included:

 Evans Street, where a total of 737 fines have been issued for this year so far. Paget Road, where 420 fines have been issued for this year so far. Holton Road, where 220 fines have been issued for this year so far and Romilly Road, where 133 parking fines have been issued for this year so far.

Overall, residents in Barry received less parking fines than in Penarth with a total of 1,510 fines in comparison to Penarth’s 2,817.

Figures released by the Vale of Glamorgan Council show that 12,515 Parking charge notices were issued from January 2024 to August 2024 for the Vale of Glamorgan in total.Stock Parking Image Stock Parking Image (Image: NQ) The Vale of Glamorgan Council were asked to give a statement in relation to irresponsible parking.

Rule 238 states ‘You must not wait or park on yellow lines during the times of operation shown on nearby time plates or zone entry signs if in a controlled parking zone.’

‘You must not wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers, on school entrance markings when upright signs indicate a prohibition of stopping.’
