A NEW shop has opened in the Vale and there's a heart warming story behind the store's name.
Mimi and Bobbin is the latest shop to open in the area and is a brand new baby and children’s clothing shop.
Store owner Lauren Goodman 35 explained why she opened the store.
“There's not many children’s clothes shops in Barry and people are saying it’s just what Barry needs so I’m just hoping that people come up and support us.”
Lauren gave us a bit of background behind the stores quirky name.
“Mimi and Bobbin, is named after my daughter and my niece," said Lauren.
“So, when my daughter was younger, she couldn’t say Amelia so she would say Mimi and when my niece Robin was born, she would say Bobbin.”
What can shoppers choose from Mimi and Bobbin?
The shop stocks a range of different baby and children’s clothing including jumpers, t-shirts, coats, and shoes which are brand new and all come at an affordable price.
Lauren said: “I’ve kept everything very reasonable considering I am competing with the online world, so dresses average about £10, jumpers £10, and t shirts, between £4.99 and £7.99.“I’ve kept it very affordable for parents of Barry to be able to come here.”
The shop itself is located on 267 Holton Road and is open the following times: Monday 09:00am-17:30pm, Tuesday 09:00am-16:30pm, Thursday 09:00am-17:30, Friday 09:00am-16:30pm and Saturday 12:00pm-16:00pm.
