There is always something going on to entertain the people of Penarth.

Here we look at some of the events that will take place this coming week.

Vale Makers Christmas market

The Vale Makers Christmas Market will be held on Sunday, November 10, at Penarth Pier Pavilion.

From 10am to 4pm, visitors can browse a wide range of stalls showcasing locally made items, perfect for gifts or unique additions to the home.

The market covers everything from glass and ceramics to prints, textiles, jewellery, and willow.

Entry is free, and attendees are encouraged to meet the makers to see what is produced on their doorstep.

Neil Diamond tribute

At Penarth Pier Pavilion, Neil Diamond tribute artist Jeff Phillips will perform on Saturday, November 9.

The show will start at 7.30pm and finish around 10.30pm.

Tickets are £14.25 per person, plus a booking fee.

Mr Phillips, who has toured the UK and Europe, will perform many of Mr Diamond's best-loved songs.

The first half of the evening will feature the "Diamond classics," while the second half will include songs from other famous performers of the 60s and 70s.

Mark Thompson will compere.

The gallery will be set up cabaret style, and attendees are welcome to request seating arrangements with friends.

The Pavilion's in-house caterers, Big Fresh, will offer boxed ploughman's and charcuterie boxes, with vegetarian and vegan options available.

On Dragon's Wings

On Remembrance Sunday, November 10, Martin Wade will present "On Dragon's Wings," a history of No. 614 (County of Glamorgan) Squadron, Royal Auxiliary Air Force.

The event will take place at All Saints Lesser Hall at 2pm.

Tickets are £20, including a signed copy of "On Dragon's Wings," £10 for the event only, and £5 for students.

The presentation coincides with the centenary year of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force.

Mr Wade's book tells the story of the squadron and the men who served in it since its formation in the 1930s.

Mr Wade said: "This is a story of machines, training, equipment, risk, danger, and sacrifice – sometimes the ultimate sacrifice – but always, then and now, it is a story of people.

"On Dragon’s Wings tells how the people of Wales’ only Royal Auxiliary Air Force squadron served, facing danger with courage and professionalism.

"It is my hope that this book tells their stories and honours them."
