Every week, Vale of Glamorgan Council makes decisions on planning applications in the Penarth area.
Here we take a look at the approved and refused decisions made by the council between Monday, October 28 and Sunday, November 3.
Garage demolition
An application to demolish two garages and construct a single-storey new dwelling with gardens, courtyard, and parking at the rear of 19 and 21 Victoria Road has been refused.
The council cited several reasons for the refusal, including the scale, form, and location of the proposed dwelling, which would dominate the conservation area and poorly relate to the existing pattern of buildings and spaces.
The proposal was also deemed to have a negative impact on the historic Victorian layout, and the primary access via a sub-standard rear lane was considered unsafe for future occupants and visitors.
The absence of an affordable housing contribution was also noted as a reason for refusal.
Monopole installation
An application for the installation of a 20-metre high Phase 7 monopole with wraparound cabinet supporting nine antennas and two 300mm transmission dishes has been decided.
The council confirmed that the application does not require prior approval.
However, the development must be carried out in accordance with the submitted details within a period of five years from the date of notification.
Office extension
A proposed first-floor office extension at Set Office Supplies in Llandough Trading Estate has been approved.
The extension must begin within five years of the approval date and follow the approved plans.
The green infrastructure enhancement measures, as outlined in the "0528 Green Infrastructure Assessment", must be completed before the first use of the new office extension.
Any trees or plants that die, are removed, or become seriously damaged or diseased within five years of completion must be replaced with similar size and species.
Window replacement and works
An application to replace all external windows and repoint the existing stone wall at the front garden boundary of 32 Stanwell Road has been approved.
The front gate is to be repaired or replaced if beyond repair.
The work must begin within five years of the approval date and adhere to the approved plans.
The green infrastructure enhancement measures must be fully implemented before the first beneficial use of the development.
If the gate needs replacing, full details must be written, submitted and approved in writing by the council.
Extension
A first-floor single-storey extension above the garage at Parkmount, Bridgeman Road has been approved.
The work must start within five years of approval and follow the approved plans.
The materials used in construction must match those used in the existing dwelling.
The green infrastructure and biodiversity measures must be fully implemented before the first beneficial use of the extension.
Rear dormer conversion
A rear dormer loft conversion with Juliet balcony, new rear side and rear extension, and lean-to construction at 6 Bradenham Place has been approved.
The work must begin within five years of the approval date and adhere to the approved plans.
The materials used in construction must match those used in the existing dwelling.
The biodiversity enhancement measures must be fully implemented before the first beneficial use of the development.
