Action has been taken by the Vale of Glamorgan Council on a number of Penarth planning applications.
See the approved and withdrawn applications with the decisions made in the week commencing Monday, November 4, to Sunday, November 10.
Window replacements
An application to replace existing UPVC tilt and turn windows with UPVC sash windows at 52 Plymouth Road has been withdrawn.
The proposal also included replacing existing rear UPVC doors.
However, there was no alteration to the structure or size of the window openings.
The windows were to match the other half of the semi-detached house at 54 Plymouth Road.
Tree work
An application for tree work in a conservation area was approved.
MP Tree Surgery will reduce the crowns of a large ash and silver birch by approximately 25-30 per cent at 9 Paget Place.
The work must begin within 24 months of the approval date.
Bats and nesting birds must not be disturbed or destroyed during the tree work.
A full visual inspection of the trees to be worked on must be carried out prior to the intended work to check for the presence of bats and nesting birds.
Garage replacement
An application for the replacement of an existing timber garage with a modern block built or timber-framed garage at 6 Clive Crescent was approved.
The new garage will primarily be used for storage and as a workshop to support house refurbishment.
A replacement concrete slab will support the new garage.
The rear of the slab will remain without a structure to allow a future addition of a lean-to greenhouse.
Work must begin within five years of the approval date and be carried out in line with the approved plans.
The biodiversity enhancement measures set out in GIS and biodiversity enhancement must be carried out in full prior to the first beneficial occupation or use of the development.
These must thereafter be retained in accordance with the approved details while the development remains in existence.
