Every week, planning applications are submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan Council for the Penarth area.
Here, we look at the two applications submitted in the week between Monday, November 4, and Sunday, November 10.
Rear extension
An application has been made for a single-storey rear extension with a new terrace and solar panels on the roof at 2 Victoria Road, Penarth.
The plans indicate an additional floor area of approximately 39 square metres.
The garden, which is lower than the house's ground floor, features a split-level timber deck terrace that needs replacing.
The new terrace will replace this, and nesting boxes will be added to enhance biodiversity.
New garage
An application has been submitted for a single oak-framed garage with a flat roof in the garden of 163 Lavernock Road, Penarth.
The garage will be constructed with 150mm x 150mm posts and beams, clad in natural wood, and topped with a green roof.
It will sit on a concrete slab with brickwork and will be accessed via the existing crossover and driveway.
