A water bottle refill and drinking station has been installed in a Penarth park.
The new facility in Victoria Square has been welcomed by the Friends of Victoria Square group, who stated it will cut the need for single-use plastic bottles and provide a convenient source of drinking water for visitors.
The project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, Glamorgan Voluntary Services, and the Vale of Glamorgan Council, involved connecting to a mains water source in Victoria Road and laying a pipe to the main pathway to All Saints Church.
This not only supplies the new bottle refill station but also provides a direct water source for park maintenance during dry spells, eliminating the need for volunteers to transport water bowsers around the square.
