THE FESTIVITIES are in full swing since the big Christmas light switched on, so here are five festive upcoming events.
At the beginning of the month, we shared some seasonal events but in the festive spirit, here are some more.
1. Christmas cinema at the Pavillion
The Penarth Pier Pavillion is screening the films It’s a Wonderful Life, The Polar Express, and White Christmas next month.
The tickets, which cost £6.50 each, include some mulled wine and a mince pie on arrival.

It’s A Wonderful Life, December 11, doors open at 6.30pm with the film starting at 7pm.

The Polar Express, December 17, doors open at 5pm with the film screening at 5.30pm.

White Christmas, December 18, doors open at 1.30pm with the film starting at 2pm.
2. The Inner Voices: Christmas at the pier
The Inner Voices will be performing at the Penarth Pier Pavillion on December 14 from 7.30pm.
They will be singing festive favourites, classic carols as well as beloved gems from their a cappella repertoire.
The Inner Voices are a vocal harmony group and the current national A Cappella champions in the UK Open 2024.
The bar which opens at 7pm will be offering a range of drinks including a warm glass of mulled wine.
The general admission tickets cost £18.04 and student concession tickets cost £16.96.
3. Arts and Craft Christmas Market at Penarth Pier Pavilion
A Christmas Art and Craft Market is being held at Penarth Pier Pavilion on Sunday, December 8 from 10am till 4pm.
The free entry event will showcase 32 local artists and crafters with their unique original handmade gifts.
You will find original paintings, glass, wood, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, resin, and candles etc.
4. Cosmeston Lakeside Nativity
In the beautiful lakeside setting there will be an outdoor live performance of the story of Jesus’ birth.
Those attending the family-friendly event which starts at 4pm on Sunday December 15 are advised to wrap up warm.
5. Murder at the Christmas Emporium
It ‘tis the season... for survival’ is the spirit of the Christmas Crime with Andreina Cordani event at Griffin Books.
It will take place at 7.30pm on December 4 at The Glamorganshire Golf Club on Lavernock Road in Penarth.
This year’s Griffin Books Christmas Crime Night will be joined by Andreina Cordani.
She is the author of 12 Days of Murder and the brand-new Murder at the Christmas Emporium.
The tickets cost £12 for the event only, but this also includes a mince pie and glass of mulled wine on arrival *or a non-alcoholic alternative.
