A number of Penarth planning applications have recently been decided by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
Here are the applications that were approved and denied in the week between Monday, November 11, and Sunday, November 17.
Discharge of condition
An application for the discharge of Condition 4 on planning reference 2023/01216/FUL has been approved.
This relates to the partial demolition and rebuild of the front boundary wall at 4 Victoria Avenue, Penarth.
The applicant submitted sample photos of St Anne's Red Brick 75m, which the council confirmed complied with the condition.
The council, therefore, discharged the condition.
Demolition of two garages
The council refused an application for the demolition of two garages at the rear of 19 and 21 Victoria Road.
The council said: "There is an objection to the substantial demolition of the garages as there is no acceptable scheme for redevelopment that would preserve or enhance the character of the Penarth Conservation Area, in accordance with Section 160 (1) of the Historic Environment (Wales) Act 2023 and the advice within Technical Advice Note 24 – The Historic Environment (2017)."
Internal re-model, re-roofing, and extension of the existing bungalow
An application for the internal remodel, re-roofing, and extension of the existing bungalow at 48 Lavernock Road has been approved.
Conditions set by the council include that the development must begin within five years of the approval date and be carried out in line with the approved plans.
Biodiversity enhancement measures as outlined in document reference Green Infrastructure Statement must be fully implemented before the development is first used and maintained in accordance with approved details.
Proposed front and side single-storey extension
An application for a proposed front and side single-storey extension at 58 Shakespeare Avenue has been approved.
The council has set several conditions, including that work must start within five years of the approval date and be carried out according to the approved plans.
The biodiversity and green infrastructure enhancement measures outlined in the document reference Green Infrastructure Statement for the planting of pollinating plants and the installation of a bug hotel must be fully implemented before the development is first used and maintained in accordance with approved details.
