There are a number of events taking place in Penarth over the coming week.

Here are some of them, including live music, a historical talk and a repair cafe.

Civic Society Talk on Captain Richard Wain V.C

A Penarth Civic Society talk about Captain Richard Wain V.C. will be held at 7pm on Thursday, November 21 at St Augustine's Church Hall.

Dr Jonathan Hicks will discuss the life of Captain Wain, a Penarth resident and the second soldier serving with the Tank Corps to be awarded a Victoria Cross.

The talk will give insight into early 20th-century Penarth and be fully illustrated.

'Cynefin' will perform live at St Augustine's Church on Saturday, November 23 from 7.30pm.

The musical project led by Owen Shiers aims to give a modern voice to Ceredigion's rich cultural heritage.

By uncovering seasoned songs, stories, and poems, Mr Shiers breathes life into the cultural landscape of West Wales.

The show is rescheduled from an earlier date.

Penarth Leisure Centre Youth Takeover

A Penarth Leisure Centre Youth Takeover will occur on Saturday, November 23 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

The Vale Sports Team and Legacy Leisure are offering a free evening of activities for young people aged 11 to 18.

Activities include swimming, football, basketball, table tennis, archery, dance, and spin.

This event is strictly for Vale of Glamorgan residents.

Repair Cafe

The Penarth Repair Cafe will take place on Sunday, November 24 at St Augustine's Parish Hall.

Running from 2pm to 4.30pm, the cafe aims to reduce landfill waste by helping people repair their items.

The repair queue will close at 4pm.

Community members will assist in repairing a range of items and provide guidance on how to mend them.
