A number of planning applications relating to properties in Penarth have recently been submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
Here are the four applications submitted between Monday, November 11 and Sunday, November 17.
Dividing wall
An application has been submitted to dismantle and rebuild the section of the dividing wall between numbers 43 and 45 Westbourne Road.
The application states the dividing wall is in a 'poor state of repair' and the pillar is 'leaning at an angle towards the pavement.'
The rebuild will see the existing materials recycled.
Rear extension
An application for a rear extension to incorporate a kitchen on the ground floor and family bathroom on the first floor, at 40 Coleridge Avenue, has been submitted.
Penarth Town Council has provided no objection to the application.
Log cabin
An application for a log cabin to be used as a day room and for storage purposes at The Wrenn's Nest on Lavernock Road, has been submitted.
It is a retrospective application as the work to create the log cabin was completed on June 26, 2023.
Planning permission was needed according to the council's planning officer due to the size, position, and permanence of the cabin.
Balcony alterations and extension
An application for alterations and extension of the existing balcony at 25 John Batchelor Way has been submitted.
The plan is to remove coping, reduce the level of brickwork, and fix a new balustrade on the brickwork.
It is proposed that the balustrade will be made of 15mm toughened glass which will be clear to the front elevation and obscured to the side elevation with a minimum heigh of 1,100mm from the balcony surface.
