A Vale of Glamorgan village has scooped five prizes in a national art competition.
Dinas Powys had one winner and four runners-up in the Fair Trade Wales competition, which invited children from across the country to submit artwork celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight.
The theme for the competition was Fairtrade and Deforestation Free, with children creating pieces that represented how Fairtrade helps combat deforestation.
Ben, from St Andrews Major School, was the winner in the age 7-8 category with his image of a world with or without trees.
There were also four runners-up from Dinas Powys, with Noah and Harriet from Dinas Powys Primary infants site, and Francesca and Maia from St Andrews Major School.
Sarah Stone, head of Fair Trade Wales, visited the schools this week to congratulate the children on their success and to award their prizes.
Ben won a hamper from Fair and Fabulous, a Fair Trade shop in Newcastle Emlyn, while the runners-up will enjoy bars of Tony’s Chocolonely.
Cathie Jackson, from the Dinas Powys Fairtrade Group, said: "We are so proud that Dinas Powys did so well in this competition.
"The schools are a key part of our Dinas Powys Fairtrade community and the Fair Trade Wales competition coincided with the schools’ celebrations of Fairtrade Fortnight, in its new timing in September."
The competition aimed to raise awareness of the impact of key agricultural commodities, including coffee and cacao, on tropical deforestation, and the role of Fairtrade in promoting environmentally friendly practices.
