A car sales site in Penarth is being demolished and transformed to create space for future housing.
Vale Car Sales on Leckwith Road, Llandough is set to be demolished for the construction of new homes.
The application submitted by developers Willis Construction was approved on November 21st.
The plans state: “The work involves the demolition of the former Vale Car Sales building and site clearance temporary exclusion zones will be set up around demolition areas.”
Work carried out during this process includes, the removal of asbestos, controlled demolition of buildings by mechanical means, controlled removal of underground fuel tanks, removal of all floor slabs and foundations and the recycling of materials where possible.
A spokesperson for Llandough council said: “The demolition process should take place on weekdays only between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm.
“The Planning Authority should impose conditions which require noise levels to be minimised.
“All construction and demolition traffic should be confined to the demolition site with no parking of vehicles on Leckwith Road or in the playing fields car park or by the side of the entrance road to the playing fields.”
Vale Car Sales has confirmed the demolition of the site online with the business filing an ‘active proposal to strike off.’
