From his birth as Gareth Owen Edwards, on July 12, 1947, in Swansea to his retirement at the peak of his form in 1978, he became a heroic figure in Welsh rugby's amazing revival in the 1970s and his exquisite skill and jinking runs earned him a place on three Lions tours: the 1968 and 1974 tours to South Africa as well as New Zealand in 1971.

This in depth video contains footage of all his greatest tries and shows moments of incredible skill that will never be forgotten.

He's also seen playing in the great Welsh teams that won seven championships, five triple crowns and two grand slams. Gareth's halfback partnerships with Barry Johns and Phil Bennett are also extensively covered.
