THE Cardiff and Penarth Green Party has announced that local resident Anthony Slaughter will be standing as the Green Party candidate in the forthcoming Cardiff South and Penarth parliamentary by-election.
Anthony is a garden designer who has lived and worked in Penarth for the last eight years. He is well known in the community, thanks in part to his involvement with local environmental group Gwyrddio Penarth Greening (GPG), of which he is Chair.
"My involvement with various community projects has shown me that there is a very strong local interest in community issues, and a keen desire amongst people to be involved in working together to make the area a more sustainable and fairer place to live and work," said Anthony.
Pippa Bartolotti, leader of the Wales Green Party, said: "Anthony has proved over many years his commitment to the social and environmental wellbeing of the people of Penarth."
