THE Welsh Liberal Democrats are standing candidates in the Cornerswell, Plymouth and St Augustines wards of the Vale of Glamorgan Council for the local elections on May 4.
We believe that both Labour and the Conservatives have let down the people of Penarth over many years, and now is the time for positive change.
We are a group of energetic local people who want to make a difference in the communities we live in, and are campaigning on the basis of keeping Penarth open, tolerant and united in the face of challenges such as Brexit and local issues such as traffic congestion, lack of available parking space, and the numerous potholes around town.
We have spoken to many local residents over the past few weeks, and it is clear that many are eager for change.
Labour have run the Vale of Glamorgan Council since 2012, but have done very little to improve the lives of local people.
The Conservatives ran the council before them, but did anyone notice any difference?
There are numerous candidates standing for other political parties at this election, but we believe the Welsh Liberal Democrats are the only party that can bring about the much-needed change that Penarth deserves.
If elected, we promise to listen to the concerns of local residents and provide effective scrutiny of the decisions made by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
We feel that the views and opinions of local people are not listened to at present, and many councillors are failing to represent people properly.
We will be tireless in our campaigning, and will always put you, the residents of Penarth, first.
If you, like us, are tired of the old-style of politics, then please consider voting for us on May 4.
Together, we can make Penarth a better place to live, work and raise a family.
Vale council candidates
Martyn Dranfield (Cornerswell), Geraint Jones (Plymouth), Roger Pinkham (Plymouth), Robin Lynn (St Augustines)
