WHILE the focus of attention, quite rightly, has been on the exploits of Cardiff City FC, I would like to offer my congratulations to a group of extremely talented young men - that of Penarth Town AFC.

Although only established for two years, they have proved worthy of the honour of using the Penarth Town name.

In their first season they became Division 1 champions and this season won the Premier division title, hopefully progressing into the Welsh amateur league next season.

In addition they have won the two cup finals from the local league, truly a magnificent effort.

It would be nice to see more local support given to this young side, in the form of local sponsorship and spectator numbers.

Again, well done lads!
