AFTER missing last week's opening pre-season friendly matches due to the weather, Sully Centurions finally got the 2016 season underway with a home victory over Cregiau.
The visitors won the toss and decided to bowl, with Sully's captain for the day, Santosh Singh, hitting a fine 78, which included 11 boundaries and two sixes. Tarv Dhanjal hit a nice 35 before Bharat carved out a century, including nine fours and four sixes that put Centurions in the driving seat.
The total of 285 was reached for the loss of six wickets.
In response, Creigiau reached 134 for the loss of three wickets in the 30th over, with openers Taylor and Callum both hitting half centuries.
Unfortunately for the visitors, the Centurions bowlers managed to put a stranglehold on the Creigiau batsmen and at the end of the 40 overs, Creigiau only managed 196 for four. The wickets were shared between the Centurions bowlers.
Many thanks to Sully Marine for sponsoring the match balls.
