Penarth Belle Vue Bowls Club had a fantastic week as they won both games.

Both victories come after an extended period of defeat, making the wins all the more thrilling.

On Wednesday, July 24, the team secured a narrow victory against Dinas Powys at their home ground, winning 58-52 in a game marred by less than ideal weather conditions.

Faced with inclement weather that felt more autumnal than summery, the club managed to pull through by winning three rinks.

Despite the challenging weather and a possible cancellation of the game due to rain, the club completed the entire match, enjoying the support from their opponents.

Following their mid-week win, the club went into their Saturday game with hope for a similar outcome.

On July 27, their confidence was rewarded with another victory, this time against Rumney, again on home turf.

The weather proved much more favourable, with sunny conditions enhancing the game-day experience.

The club ended up victorious with a score of 84-70.

These wins are particularly significant as many team members are playing their first season.

The successes have been credited to the help, support and enthusiasm of the club's experienced players.

For a club repeatedly used to losses, this string of victories signifies the satisfying culmination of persistent hard work and commitment.

Team members in Penarth Belle Vue club say they are proud to be a part of such a supportive, friendly and caring community of players.

Despite the outcome of any match, they love playing the sport.

However, now that they’ve tasted victory, they are keen to keep the winning streak alive for the remainder of the season.
