Penarth Belle Vue Bowls Club was brought back down to Earth with a bang after their first double-win of the season.
After the club's first wins of the season coming in late July, they suffered two losses last week.
On Wednesday, July 31, the team tasted defeat on home ground against Windsor, their score totalling 49 to 71.
Despite the hot weather, the team still enjoyed the evening, especially as they won one rink, led by Clare Lewis, and featuring Peter Bagwell, Maurice Cox and Jacqui Kempa.
On Saturday, August 3, the team suffered another loss against Roath Park away, this time with a bigger score deficit of 59 to 99.
However, they took it in stride due to the superb weather, their generous hosts, and strong camaraderie.
One rink was won, with Trevor Ford at the helm and he was joined by Peter Bagwell, Richard Brant and Dave Bradley.
Despite the consecutive losses, the team remains committed to future league matches every Saturday and their final Wednesday match this coming week.
